Competitive drifting made a welcome return to Driftland last Friday night.
A combination of novices and national level competitors pushed their cars to the limit to make it through to the final on March 24.
A number of competitors also took the opportunity to practice their drift battle skills, but the emphasis was on impressing officials with consistency.
Over each of the 3 heats, 6 finalists will progress to the final.
This gives a total of 18 qualified drivers for the final on March 24.
Our first 6 finalists are:
Cat Coliero - Winner of the first Masters
Matthew Knight - who came to prominence in last year's masters
Mark Fuz - Pilot of the "mighty" skyline
Steve Burke - Hi Octane Mazda MX-5
Fernando Wierhl - 2005 Formula Drift Champion
Glen Drysdale - Consistent performance in the Cefiro.
Heat 2 - Friday Night 24 February and places are filling fast.
Heat 3 - Friday Night 10 March
Final - Friday Night 24 March
